Data Terms

Last updated: January 2026

These terms govern the use of renovation cost data provided through DerekCurtice.com, including data accessed via the website, embeddable estimators, and API.

Data Source

The Memphis Renovation Cost Database is compiled from 25 years of contractor relationships in the Memphis metropolitan area. Pricing reflects actual project costs reported by licensed contractors in Shelby County and surrounding communities.

Accuracy Disclaimer

All cost estimates are planning ranges only. They are not quotes, bids, or guarantees. Actual project costs depend on site conditions, material selections, contractor availability, and other factors. Estimates typically fall within plus or minus 10 percent of final costs for standard projects, but variances may be larger for complex or unusual work.

Geographic Scope

Data is calibrated specifically for the Memphis, Tennessee metropolitan area, including Germantown, Collierville, Bartlett, Cordova, Arlington, and other Shelby County communities. Pricing may not be accurate for other markets.

Permitted Use

Authorized partners may embed estimators on their websites and access data through the API under the terms of their partner agreement. Partners may display estimates to their clients for planning purposes.

Partners may not resell raw data, create derivative databases, or use data to train machine learning models without explicit written permission.

Attribution

When referencing cost data outside of the embedded estimator interface, attribution to DerekCurtice.com is required.

Data Updates

Pricing is updated periodically to reflect current material costs and labor rates. The verified outcomes system continuously refines estimates based on actual project results reported by contractors.

No Warranty

Data is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. DerekCurtice.com makes no guarantees regarding accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose.

Limitation of Liability

DerekCurtice.com shall not be liable for any damages arising from reliance on cost estimates, including but not limited to financial losses from projects that exceed estimated costs.
